Tasting Note

Bottling Code: L 15 08 18
Bourbon
Bottled 2018
Tasted: Feb 2020
The nose is quite tropical and estery with subtle earthy peat, barley, mocha, tangerine, lemon and honey. Good density and depth with a late saltiness, which gives the nose a lovely freshness.

The palate is rich, oily and honeyed. More coastal influence than the nose would suggest but still as fruity and estery. Earthy peat and tongue tingling lemon and salt follows along with some noticeable alcohol. Long, whit chocolate, vanilla, salt and sweet oak finish. Really well balanced and showing more weight than previous bottlings.

Water brings out a distinct Riesling-esque petrol note and light fish oils. less tropical and peated with a touch more weighty oak and honey. The palate is lighter in body with that petrolly note found on the nose quite evident. Again less fruity and peaty but there’s still a good depth of honey and barley to fill the mouth with. Lightly woody finish. Definitely entertaining!
