Aromas of treacle, tar, rubber and loads of freshly raisinated fruit and peat. Chunky and slightly astringent with green fruit, green nuts, pot pourri rose petals, menthol, butter cream and silky PX notes.
The palate is full, tarry, treacly and loaded with peat smoke, silky raisinated fruit, cinnamon, sweet tannin, more tar and rubber. Yep, a peat and sherry monster! Intense, spicy tarry, peaty finish with bitter spice and a touch of sherried dried fruit. Sinus clearing mentholated after-taste.
Diluted the nose is less wild but pretty much the same as it is neat. Maybe there is a little more of the youthful rose petal spirit character. The palate is softer and less tarry. Less peat but more smoke and the dried fruit is a little sweeter. Still tannic but the tannins are a touch ‘green’. Longer, still raisinated but less mentholated.
