Aromas of roasted barley, cereal wort/ mashtun and hints of salt, apricot and vanilla. To say this is barley focused would be a huge understatement! Distinctly old fashioned with late peanut brittle and cream notes.
The palate is fresher and saltier, but still full of fresh and dried barley, porridge oats, cereal, nuts, apricot and apple. Stunning purity of barley character with a little vanilla and honeysuckle on the middle. Masked, barley and salt finish.
Diluted the nose is pretty much the same. Maybe it’s a little less toasty and nutty, but still very barely’d. The palate is softer and rounder with less porridge and a touch more crystal clear barley. Long, sweet oak, toffee and subtle tannin finish.

The AD/ Heritage Barley Release is their most pure, distillate-led whisky. For this recipe they have stripped absolutely everything back, focusing on 100% unpeated, 6+ year old Golden Promise distillate, matured entirely in ex-bourbon casks, bottled at a cask strength of 59.2% ABV. This is Ardnamurchan at full power, sumptuously fatty and with extraordinary clarity.
