Bourbon/ Oloroso Butts
Tasted: Oct 2020
An oily and youthful nose with plenty of sooty and smoky peat with a whiff of chlorine and orange marmalade. There is also a Ledaig-like meatiness along with hints of salt, pine resin, apple blossom and spice.
The palate is actually quite polite and classically oily/ woody. Hints of peat briquettes, smoke, earth and again a slight meatiness. There’s a touch of burnt wood, leather, salt and black pepper on the middle. Lovely, tongue tingling salty finish with a touch of soot. In conclusion: There are a few rough edges, but its young Ardbeg after all and its what the Storm is to the Talisker 10.
