Appleton Estate Signature 40%
Tasting Note
Tasted: Sept 2021
The nose is young and shows raw sugar cane and subtle oily dried fruit. It initially reminds me of the other Jamaican distillery Worthy Park. There nose appears to show predominantly lighter column still spirit with a smaller proportion of pot still spirit adding a bit of depth. Overall it has a pleasant natural character. Late touch of spice.
The palate is light and oily, again showing plenty of column still dried fruit. Subtle menthol/ sub-agricole notes on the middle. Straightforward, medium length with hints of molasses, granulated sugar and green fruit in the finish.
