Like the unpeated spirit the nose kicks off with the sweet barley, followed by ashy and sweet peat. Hints of honeysuckle and apricot. It develops a touch of raspberry and junipery/ herbaceous notes.
The palate displays straw-like barley, lemon and subtle ashy peat. Again, not as honeyed as the unpeated new make. Lightly herbaceous middle with some oily ‘off the still’ notes. Masked, gritty peat finish with lingering spirit oiliness and subtle raw barley.
