Angels Nectar Original Blended Malt 40%

Tasting Note

Tasted: Jan 2015
The nose is youthful, estery and oily with sweet barley, pineapple chunks, apricot and a touch of acacia. The developing citrus notes add freshness and balance the oils. With time a little American oak character can be discerned.

The palate opens with young, oily apricot and barley with developing citrus and mineral notes. It feels a little petilant on the tongue but that morphs into a light sherbet character. Quite herbal on the middle. Pleasantly deep and full. Long and lightly gristy with the citrus and minerality making the finish feel a little austere, although the oils counter to certain extent.

Conclusion: A lovely, young, characterful malt which will be fascinating to see how this develops if given more time in the cask.

Please note that the branded Glencairn glass is not included with this bottle. It however can be purchased separately for £8.95
