The nose displays briny, herbal peat and pepper to begin with. Hints of menthol, pot pourri petals follow. With time some white fruit, barley and mint appears as the peat notes becomes drier and ashier.
The palate kicks off with barley, citrus and sooty peat along with hints of menthol, mint, white fruit and very subtle vanilla. The pepper notes really build along with some soft wood spices on the middle. Long, herbal, salty, sooty, intense finish with lingering peppery spices. It’s probably still a bit too heavily peated when compared to their earlier peated releases, but you have to love the intensity.
