Gauntleys Whisky Club – Rum Tasting Evening – 23rd September 2026

We are delighted to confirm that our next ‘spirits’ evening will feature a swashbuckling range of RUM! Like many of you I (Eann) have only sampled a small number of Rums previously, but in good Pirate fashion, I am ready to commandeer a few bottles to let us sample a decent selection of the finest Rum’s available. So, let’s get ready to hoist the mainbrace and set sail to the exotic foreign shores (metaphorically speaking!) to where they are made and sample the delights of what this amazingly adaptable drink to offer.

Rum, like a stealthy Galleon enroute for a surprise attack, has slowly crept into the publics consciousness as a serious alternative to the likes of whisky and Gin. And like those drinks, it can be drunk neat or as a tall drink or even a cocktail. Our selection of 6 Rums on the night will go part of the way to showing the many varied styles available.

So, avast me hearties and let’s taste some amazingly fantastic Rums – only then can we see who can walk the plank successfully!

Places are limited, so you will need to book exceedingly quickly as this will sell out long before the night.

Due to the tight costings of the evenings, we can only accept cancellations and offer refunds up to 7 days before the event. Within 7 days of the event, we can try and resell your ticket, and if successful, we will offer you either an alternative event to attend or a refund. If we are unable to re-sell the ticket, we reserve the right to measure out tasting samples of each of the whiskies tasted and keep them safe for you. There will be a £5 surcharge for this to cover the costs of the bottles / labels.

You will need to let us know by 5pm at the latest on the day of the event either by e-mail (eann@gauntleys.com) or by phone on 01159 110555. These sample measures can be collected from the shop at your leisure. If you wish the samples mailed out to you there will be a small extra charge for this.

It is your responsibility to note the correct time and date of the event to ensure your attendance as we will not accept any liability in this regard. Refunds will not be given for failure to attend. Purchased spaces are non-transferable.

If we need to cancel an event for whatever reason we will of course offer to move you on to the next available whisky evening or offer a full refund.
