Domaine Daniel Crochet-2022 Sancerre Rouge, Sur le Clou
Description
Produced from 50 year old vines. Whole bunch fermentation, with very low extraction, no pumping down of the cap – just infusion. The wine is aged for 12 month in 3 to 5 year old barrels with a further 6 months maturation in vat. Lovely pure, floral bouquet – more intense and complex than the generic. More depth on the palate too, with ripe red berry fruits and spice. Wonderful focus and minerality with great balance and good backbone. Very Burgundian and worth cellaring. Pair with full flavoured meat and lighter game dishes.
