Every time taste the Bunnah 12 I swear that it becomes more sherried and this bottling is a complete sherry monster. Big, rich and winey with herbal, high toned sultana and dried citrus fruit. Hints green apple, marzipan, dark chocolate, heather, grilled walnut and treacle, but unfortunately none of the fragrant Bunnah distillery character!
The palate is fresher and saltier. There’s more citrus but still plenty of sherried dried fruit, wood smoke and herbal/ menthol sherry notes. A touch of treacle and spice comes through on the middle. Long, juicy dried fruit, grilled nuts, mazipan, dark chocolate, wood smoke, spice and salt.
