Nearly 50/50 peated and unpeated barley (1st release with 10 year old peated spirit)
Bourbon/ Sherry
Aromas of earthy but sweet rose petal makes it feel a little younger than its stated age. Barley, salt and vanilla follow along with subtle, earthy peat and late herbal garden fruit.
The palate opens with a little more of the sherry character but it’s far from blanketing. There’s also more sweet peat character as well as hints of straw, redcurrant, sweet rose petal, barley and almost estery white fruit. Lovely balance of American oak vanilla and sherried dried fruit. Long, juicy, fruity, fleshy, earthy finish with the peat and salt returning on the after-taste.
Description
The AD/ 10 Years Old 2025 Release is the distilleries first batch release ever to contain peated 10 year old spirit. Distillery character remains front and centre once again, with a recipe comprising very nearly 50% peated and unpeated whiskies, matured primarily in ex-bourbon casks, and a wee bit of ex-sherry cask in the mix.
