The nose opens with some obvious Calvados apple and hints of both sweet and oily barley. Slightly earthy and medicinal peat appears along with salt and white fruit. Late drier barley, malt, straw and oxidised white fruit. An impressive nose!
The palate is fresh and salty with subtler Calvados apple notes. Barley, green apple and apricot follow as does the oak which fills out well on the middle. Like the nose the peat is both earthy and slightly medicinal in style. Long, continuing salty with sweet peat, malt, coffee and subtle tannins in the finish. Again, a very impressive bottling!
