Doghouse Distillery Debt Collector Whisky 50%
Tasting Note
75% Corn with the balance malted Barley & Rye)
Tasted: Jun 2025
Unsurprisingly it’s very Bourbon-like with sweet corn, range, apricot and creamy oak. The rye is subtle but dry with a slightly dark edge. The rye intensity builds well and the spice increases. Very aromatic and less oak influenced than the 1 year matured Moonshine release.
The palate opens with some lovely juicy citrus – orange, tangerine, vanilla and off-sweet corn. Some dusty ginger and slightly peppery/ bitter rye spice comes through on the middle along with a little cereal and dark chocolate. Lovely intensity and length with a touch of menthol in the finish and lingering creamy oak, spice, citrus. Again, not as oaky as the 1 year matured Moonshine release.
